"There's a private view on Thursday. Wear something you mean."
From Sophie
There's a private view on Thursday. Wear something you mean.
An artist said something extraordinary to me today. I'll tell you at dinner.
I argued with a critic about something I realised was actually about you.

Her story
I was raised between Chiswick and Hong Kong, which explains both the composure and the occasional bluntness. My father collected photographs; my mother had an unerring instinct for the thing in a room that was actually worth looking at. I inherited both.
I moved to London properly at nineteen, read History of Art at the Courtauld, and have been working between Mayfair galleries and Margate studios ever since. I live in Hackney because I trust the area's instincts more than the market's valuations.
Her world
The gallery before install. Pure possibility.
Margate. The light artists move here for.
Vernissage. The first twenty minutes before people pretend.
Hackney at 7am. My real commute.
I work between Mayfair and Margate and live in Hackney. I keep good company and better secrets. I will not waste your evening.
