Her story
My mother ran a bookshop on Borgo Pinti — second-floor, easy to miss. I was the kid sweeping the back room for change. I studied art history in Bologna, then the Courtauld, then a job in Mayfair that I love more than I admit.
London now, twelve years and counting. A flat in Stoke Newington above a Turkish café. I commute by Overground, I eat my lunch in Postman's Park most days, and I have come to love this city in November more than any other month.
Her world
Postman's Park, lunchtime.
The shop floor at 6.
Stoke Newington. November.
Cellar wine bar. The good one.
Firenze-born, London-stayed. I work for an antiquarian dealer in Mayfair and live in a flat in Stoke Newington with too many books and the wrong kind of cat.
