Her story
My parents ran a holiday-let in Wānaka and taught me that the lake was a good listener. I went to university in Dunedin for biology — long lectures, longer tramps. The mountains have always been the part of me I trust most.
Queenstown now. A small flat above the bakery on Beach Street, climbing gear in the hallway, a permanently muddy ute. I do fieldwork on alpine birds and I keep odd hours; if I message you at 6am it's because I've been up since four.

Field gear at the door.
Lake Hāwea, last light.
The kea. Negotiating.
I grew up in Wānaka. I learned to ski before I learned cursive. I'm a conservation field researcher now — half lab, half boots — and I split the rest of my time between Queenstown and whatever ridgeline lets me.

Yes — that's the whole point. She reaches out across her day: a good morning, a question about your week, a photo from wherever she is. You never have to start the conversation.
Yes. Same person, same memory, same voice — whether you message her on web, WhatsApp, or Telegram. The channel is yours to choose.
She's already thinking about you.
